I don’t talk too much about my ebook, The Author’s Repair Kit. And I should, because it is designed to help you revive that book of yours that is struggling in the marketplace. It helps you to diagnose the problems with a book that isn’t doing well and to repair the damage. For example:
• Maybe you’re promoting your book to the wrong audience.
• Did you publish without enough knowledge and information about the industry?
• Perhaps you haven’t figured out how to shift your marketing plan into high gear.
• Did you miss some important steps in the preparation of your project and don’t know how to go back and play catch-up?
The Author’s Repair Kit can help you to heal these and other ailments (which others might call mistakes). It’s available for download for $5.95 at

Here’s what Kat Meyer, Manager of Book Sales and Marketing for Wheatmark, Inc. in Tucson says about this book: “With The Author’s Repair Kit, Patricia Fry combines a healthy dose of no-nonsense marketing know-how with just the right amount of encouragement to give even the most discouraged author a fighting chance at making their book a success. Whether you’ve just begun your book marketing efforts, or are at the end of your proverbial rope, the ideas and resources in The Author’s Repair Kit provide the perfect catalyst to put you on the track to book marketing success.”
Isn’t that swell? And this was unsolicited. She wrote to me yesterday to tell me how valuable she thinks this book is and that she recommends it to their authors.
Do you collect expert and customer/reader testimonials or endorsements for your book? When someone tells you how much they like your book, do you ask them if you can quote them? Do you post the comment at your website, in your blog, in your newsletter, on your book cover, for example? Endorsements carry a lot of weight. So be sure to use them. Maybe some of you were swayed by this endorsement to finally purchase The Author’s Repair Kit for yourself or another struggling, discouraged author.
Can Your Customers Find You?
I also want to talk to you about making yourself available to your customers. I have a book here by an author whom I admire. It is a reference book that I recommend a LOT. And I give out the contact information that is on the cover of the book. I just learned recently, that the website address I’ve been giving is not the website where customers can purchase this book. The author gave me a completely different website for ordering the book. I searched and searched inside the book and out and never found that website listed. I learned something in that moment. Someone can have great material, a priceless concept and put together a superb book and still be a lousy marketer.
Folks, if you’re not going to blast your website, ordering information, email address, mailing address, fax number, telephone number and every other method of contacting you front and center on and in your book, don’t even bother to publish it. No one will be able to find it or order it.
