I’ve said before that Lily and Sophie aren’t actually related and they’re not super close. They have a relationship—they seem to care about each other, but they don’t sleep in a sweet snuggle puddle, they don’t lick one another. They do hang out in the same space sometimes and I like capturing those moments with my camera. Here’s a recent shot. They’re near, but not actually relating. The pictures I have of them relating involve fisticuffs. (Or I might say Pawticuffs).
Not true of loving siblings, however. They will wrestle and attack each other, then curl up together to have a nap. It’s what they did as small kittens and, if kept together in their forever home, they often continue to snuggle at naptime. So precious.
Ours have been together since birth and exhibit all the love of siblings as well as the arguments, jealousy and spats. Their kitty mama is here, too, and I think she sometimes wishes for an empty nest. She’s not going to get one, but dreams can help. If we have to live overrun with her progeny, so does she. We really do love every single one of them.
Sounds like a fun and lively household. I love sibling kitties.
